GUANGZHOU, CHINA — Continuing an aggressive trajectory of technological evolution, FunRobo Technology Co., Ltd. officially initiated R&D for advanced Projection Karting systems in 2023, culminating in a landmark commercial rollout at the close of 2024. As the very first company in China to achieve fully independent in-house research, development, manufacturing, and operational mastery of projection karting technology, FunRobo once again set a new benchmark for the local amusement sector.

Unlike traditional screen-based or goggle-based virtual reality, projection karting transforms the physical floor into a dynamic, reactive gaming canvas using high-precision tracking and overhead projection mapping. However, pioneering this cutting-edge medium presented significant spatial challenges. The initial generation of our projection kart system demanded substantial physical footprints, requiring arenas of at least 1,000 square meters with a vertical ceiling clearance of 6 meters or higher.

These stringent infrastructure requirements meant that while the visual and emotional impact of the mega-arena system was breathtaking, its commercial deployment was inherently restricted to massive, newly built flagship entertainment complexes with high capital expenditure budgets. Consequently, while a select few high-end venues successfully brought the experience to life, overall deployment volume during this initial phase remained relatively low.

Nevertheless, this foundational large-scale deployment served as an invaluable technological proving ground. Mastering the complex calibration of multi-projector blending, sub-millimeter kart tracking, and high-speed multi-player server synchronization gave our engineering team the core intellectual property needed for our next major leap: scaling projection karting down to compact, mass-market spaces.
